Santa Catalina School High School Library Renovation

This design/build renovation project completed with Avila Construction transforms the existing Sister Mary Kiernan Memorial Library, originally built in the 1960s, into a modern space for study, learning, and campus community. In addition to upgrading physical conditions and building infrastructure (MEP, structural, life safety and technology), our design for the renovation applies new colors, finishes, and furniture to create the school’s desired calm, cozy, and inviting environment for the library. Features that complement the library services and book collections include teamwork areas, spaces with interactive wall displays and teleconferencing capabilities and, unique for high school libraries, a kitchen for cooking classes, wellness coaching rooms and a yoga/meditation/multi-purpose space.
