Sue brings to her role as ABA’s Controller over 20 years of corporate accounting experience, which includes working with C-level leaders at global organizations to manage complex account programs. Her success stems not only from exacting skills in financial analysis, payroll, client relations, HR administration, and project accounting, but her ability to partner with leadership in implementing strategic financial stewardship practices. While numbers may be her focus, she never loses sight of the human element and emphasizes the importance of mentorship, trust, and a sense of humor in her teamwork. She also draws on inspiration from trailblazers like Richard Branson and Lizzo, who achieved greatness from humble beginnings by working hard, believing in themselves and their dreams, and never forgetting their responsibilities to care for the people and planet around them.
To celebrate the firm's 40th anniversary, staff were challenged to share their imagination and design thinking by creating a row house concept. Here is Sue's.
Taking the basic concept of a row house I thought about what I would want to live in. I LOVE Victorians and I have long dreamed of owning a bakery, I also love to garden, so...I have a bakery on the ground level for all other ABA’ers to come and get their morning pastries and bread (you’re welcome) glass block frontage in the bakery allow for light to come into the basement where all my secrets are kept. Lots of flower boxes and greenery as well as a communal vegetable and flower garden on the roof.
