JC is committed to maximizing opportunities for all people to grow and succeed on their own life’s journey, a drive he attributes to the inspiring example set by his grandparents as they came to the US to pursue better opportunities for their children. His ability to bring diverse people together to support productive teamwork is a hallmark of his approach to project management, as is his conviction that curiosity without judgement is essential for encouraging the open sharing of different perspectives. Combined with his technical skills spanning information management, multi-disciplinary team coordination, and Building Information Modeling, his empathy and active listening skills make him an effective project manager who easily builds trust between clients, contractors, and members of the project team.
To celebrate the firm's 40th anniversary, staff were challenged to share their imagination and design thinking by creating a row house concept. Here is JC's.
Statement:
Bring some life and activity back to this neighborhood by designing a vibrant welcoming home that helps reintroduce community and nature to the block.
The first floor has a floor to ceiling storefront to promote openness and a sense of welcome to the neighbors and will host game nights with the neighbors. While the second and third floor will introduce micro balconies off the living spaces.
I hope to sprinkle some urban greenery on the block with the addition of a roof garden, community planter and a moss plaster solution applied to the existing masonry façade.
