Job Opportunity - ​Job Captain/Mid-Level Interior Designer

Anderson Brulé Architects, Inc. is looking for a Job Captain/Mid-level Interior Designer for their Healthcare/Educational Markets. A good candidate will demonstrate experience in most phases of architectural practice; this includes but is not limited to conceptual design, schematic design, design development, construction documents, and construction administration. Candidates are to demonstrate an understanding of the process to evaluate, select, present, document and coordinate FF&E. The best candidates will be proactive, taking initial leadership and direction, to execute with limited supervision.

Candidates will be expected to:

  • Work with Senior Designer/Project Architect to develop and implement design concepts in form, space, and the selection/layout/configuration of FF&E.
  • Must be able to multitask effectively on multiple projects.
  • Create a presentation which demonstrates proposed FF&E design concepts to the client.
  • Create technically sound and accurate Contract Documents with limited guidance.
  • Cartoon/sketch a set of drawings and/or presentations for review by project team prior to implementation.
  • Research, design and document relevant building codes and standards.
  • Coordinate the design and assembly of construction documents with all team members including consultants.
  • Contribute to sustainable dialogues and design development


The ideal candidate must be highly motivated and have:

  • Integrity and a positive attitude
  • approximately 5 years of experience
  • Strong design ability with an eye for details
  • Interest of architecture and design beyond finishes and furnishings
  • Experience using Revit to model and produce construction documentation on different commercial projects that have gone through the building permit process (DSA and/or OSPD experience a plus). Proven ability to generate renderings from a Revit model.
  • A BA/BS/BFA in Interior Design or Architecture from a 4/5 year program or a Masters of Architecture
  • Demonstrated ability to generate design presentation at various levels of design completion. Examples of such presentations may be conceptual, space plan, schematic design and design development presentations
  • Recent Experience in Commercial Tenant Improvement projects and leading interiors focused work.
  • LEED Accreditation
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and Microsoft Office.
  • Have passed or are preparing to take the NCIDQ is preferred.
  • Have AutoCAD proficiency.
