About ABA Studios

We are architects, planners, and interior designers committed to creating beautiful and functional environments that support learning, wellness, culture, and the public good. Since our founding in 1984, we have partnered with both public and private clients in the planning and design of projects such as libraries, academic buildings, hospital and clinical spaces, housing for individuals with developmental disabilities, civic spaces, and other community-building typologies.

Operating out of offices in San José and Claremont, our goal is to deliver enduring and meaningful architecture that balances human, social, economic, and environmental factors for both individuals and communities. Collaboration and inclusiveness distinguish the full spectrum of services we use to guide clients throughout a project’s entire development process – from engaging stakeholders and community members, understanding needs, articulating an inspiring vision, and crafting a clear space needs program to designing creative, technically accomplished solutions and working closely with contractors to build projects in an efficient, cost-effective, and timely manner.

While we are proud of the awards we have won for projects such as the Martin Luther King Jr. Joint-Use Library, El Gabilan Library, Ohlone College Academic Core Replacement Buildings, and many others, we are most proud of the positive impact our work has on communities and clients committed to serving the public good. Fundamentally, we believe in architecture for all, which makes it especially gratifying to see the successful completion of projects that help people learn, grow, heal, and connect with each other.
