The Altadena Library District recently celebrated the groundbreaking of the Bob Lucas Memorial Library and Literacy Center. This significant event, held on April 18, 2024, marked the beginning of a major renovation and expansion project for the library, named after journalist and library advocate Bob Lucas. The renovation, designed by ABA, will add 1,000 square feet to the library, enhancing spaces for children and English language tutoring.

The ceremony saw attendance from numerous local officials and community leaders, including L.A. County Supervisor Kathryn Barger, California State Librarian Greg Lucas, and Altadena resident and ABA Design Principal Mark Schoeman AIA, DBIA.
