The newly named Larry Walker Welcome Center at Monterey Peninsula College reflects a design process centered on welcome, access, and connection.
The center honors Larry Walker, a longtime MPC administrator and alumnus whose nearly 37-year career at the College included leadership roles as Dean of Student Services and Vice President of Student Services.
ABA Studios worked closely with MPC and its project partners from early programming and cost modeling through design, engaging faculty, staff, and students to understand priorities and shape the building program.
The resulting 14,000-square-foot, two-story center brings together the College’s welcome program, student services, affinity group spaces, collaborative areas, and student amenities in one visible campus gateway.
We’re pleased to see the project enter this next chapter as the Larry Walker Welcome Center.
