Educational Park Branch Library

Educational Park Branch Library is the hub of a diverse neighborhood in east San José, and was rebuilt through a citywide Library Bond Measure. The building serves as the primary information and center for community gathering for the surrounding neighborhoods and schools. The design reflects the cultural heritage of the area and serves as a gateway to important local landmarks, including Independence High School and Overfelt Gardens.

This project also furthers ABA and San José’s green vision by seeking Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Gold certification. The project utilizes natural daylighting, highly efficient mechanical systems and building envelope design, achieving energy performance 37% under state requirements.
